59 Chinese Apps Banned By India

India Government Banned 59 Mobile apps developed by Chinese people and companies in India for security reasons. Indian Government feels that these apps are leaking users data to Chinese Government . Many of the Chinese apps have been linked to controversies over data privacy, and have been accused of leaking sensitive information to the Chinese government.

According to Indian government statement these apps are mining and profiling data, which may be used by elements hostile to national security and defense of India, which is challenge to the sovereignty and integrity of India and requires emergency measures". This decision is ensure safety and sovereignty of Indian cyberspace.”.

Most of the apps are used for social networking. Users in India overall have welcomed Government step due to situation erosion at LAC by Chinese aggression. Google play store has started removing apps on google app store. . Removing the apps from Play store Google has said, “While we continue to review and followup the interim orders from the Government of India, we have notified the affected app developers and have temporarily blocked access to the apps that remained available on the Google Play Store in India.”.

India has millions of users using these Chinese mobile applications. These Social apps have earned millions of dollars all these years but this current India and China standoff at LAC has changed everything.
