Four personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force Killed
RAIPUR:
Four personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force ( ) were killed and three
injured after their colleague opened fire inside a security camp of the paramilitary force
in insurgency-hit Sukma district in the Bastar region in Chhattisgarh. The incident took
place in the wee hours around 3.15 am on Monday.
“In a case of fratricide, constable Reetesh of CRPF’s 50th battalion opened fire
upon company personnel at Lingalapalli camp situated at Maraiguda in Sukma. The exact reason that triggered the incident would be known soon. Ranjan used AK -47 rifle to shoot,” a police official said.
Seven jawans sustained bullet injuries
Seven jawans sustained bullet injuries in the firing and four of them succumbed on thespot, while three others were rushed to a hospital at Bhadrachalam in neighboring Telangana state.
A preliminary probe indicates that Ranjan had an argument with his colleagues over an issue that led to the incident.
The deceased personnel were identified as constables Dhanji, , Rajmani Kumar Yadav, and Dharmendra KR while the wounded personnel under treatment are Dhananjay Kumar Singh, and Further details are awaited.
